Distinguish transport setup from an already assembled machine
A new machine might require standing the cabinet on legs, securing the backbox and removing manufacturer-specified shipping restraints. A relocated used machine could instead have been partially disassembled by a moving company, with unclear or missing parts. If the unit already stands complete but has a gameplay fault, the task is likely technical diagnosis, not basic assembly. Keep the shipping instructions and protective materials until the intended reconfiguration is understood. Different cabinet generations can have different hinge, leg and display arrangements even when their outside dimensions are similar.
Legs, backbox and protected playfield glass
The legs and adjustable feet carry a substantial cabinet, and the exact manufacturer bolts and leveling hardware matter. The backbox houses factory components and may be connected by a particular hinge or securing system. Handling the playfield glass and protective trim requires the instructions for that exact machine, not a generic furniture diagram. Missing bolts or a cracked support are reasons for a further review, not permission to substitute whatever fastener fits the hole. The presence of a playable-looking cabinet is not proof that its internals have been inspected or repaired.
Route a heavy cabinet through the building carefully
Measure doors, hallways, staircase turns and the clearance needed to raise the backbox once the machine is in place. A pinball cabinet can be far heavier and harder to maneuver than its apparent footprint suggests, particularly on stairs. Large-item relocation, lifting crews and disposal are separate tasks whose availability must be checked. Identify the intended floor surface and the product's leveling requirements before discussing placement. A delicate finished floor or a narrow basement approach changes the handling question but does not establish an installer has the equipment or qualifications to move the machine safely.
Factory startup is not playfield or circuit-board repair
The manufacturer may prescribe an initial power-on or setting check after shipping restraints have been removed. That process differs from troubleshooting flippers, coils, score displays, control boards or damaged internal wiring. An unexplained electrical issue is not cured simply by reconnecting the backbox. Internal repairs and specialist servicing require separate confirmation with an appropriately qualified technician. If a used machine has missing mechanisms or unknown modifications, the appropriate technician and diagnostic scope must be established before use rather than improvising under the label of assembly.
Pinball is distinct from upright arcade and billiards equipment
An Arcade Game Assembly kit is typically a vertical cabinet with a control deck. A Pool Table Assembly & Installation inquiry concerns a heavy playing bed and rail/cloth geometry. Arcade & Game Table Assembly can describe a mixed delivery. A pinball project remains specific to its shipping setup, legs, backbox and any qualified technical assistance required.
